Bipolar disorder is characterized by extreme mood swings. These can range from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression). It used to be known as manic depression.
Signs of Bi-Polar Disorder:
Up and down moods.
Trouble completing tasks.
Depressive systems, loss of appetite, problems to sleep.
Chemical imbalance in the brain, genetics, triggers and stressful circumstances
or situations often trigger the symptoms of bipolar disorder.
Examples of stressful triggers include:
The breakdown of a relationship.
Physical, sexual or emotional abuse.
The death of a close family member or loved one.
Overwhelming problems in everyday life, such as problems with money, work or relationships.
