Established in 1986, Tabita Care Centre is a private, non-profit residential treatment facility located on an 18 hectare property in a rural area of Vereeniging, Gauteng, for adults suffering from severe, persistent mental illness.
This idyllic setting, along with the accommodation options available and emphasis on healthy food and activities, promotes a sense of peace and security and trust vital for individuals struggling with serious mental illness.
Tabita Care Centre offers long term supportive mental illness treatment in 6 residential homes, taking comfort in providing a stimulating and caring environment.
Staff work hard to make residents feel secure, develop their strengths, build new skills and define their paths to wellness and recovery.
Tabita Care Centre offers a variety of psychiatric rehabilitation programs designed
to support enhanced behavioral and emotional stability in the lives of adults with
mental health disorders.
Our programs include:
Full psychiatric services
Individualized daily living assistance
We provide psychiatric assistance to adults 18 years and older with primary diagnoses of anxiety, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia, and who are consistently willing to take prescribed medications.
Unfortunately, our residential mental health facilities are unequipped to accommodate individuals who are physically or cognitively challenged, aggressive, actively suicidal, persistently manic, actively abusing substances, requiring medical attention for eating disorders, or are non-compliant with prescribed medications.
Our holistic approach aims to:
Provide quality care.
Treat clients with compassion and dignity.
Manage individual prescribed medicine and treatments.
Instill confidence, self-worth and self care through various programs.
Rehabilitate and reintegrate clients back to family and society.
Provide a homely, safe and secure living environment.
